Dr. Brines is a co-founder of Warren Pharmaceuticals, Inc., serves on the Board of Directors and is Chief Scientific Officer.

He received his bachelor’s degree in physics and biology from the University of Notre Dame and his PhD in neurobiology and behavior from the Rockefeller University in 1978.

After 2 years as an Assistant Professor at the Rockefeller University, he received his MD from Yale University where he completed residency and fellowship training to become board certified in internal medicine and in endocrinology and metabolism.

From 1989 to 1998 Dr. Brines served as Co-Director of the Yale Pituitary Center and from 1992 to 1998 was also the Co-Director of the Molecular Core of the Yale University Diabetes and Endocrinology Research Center.

In addition to expertise in neuroendocrine and adrenal medicine, Dr. Brines has had extensive research interests primarily focused upon delineating mechanisms of nervous system injury and the development of novel approaches and therapies for neurodegenerative diseases.

Dr. Brines has been the inventor or co-inventor on numerous U.S. patents and their foreign counterparts, and is the author or co-author of over 100 scientific publications.
