Robert N. Butler, MD

Dr. Butler is President and Chief Executive Officer of the International Longevity Center - USA, and Founder/Professor of Geriatrics and Adult Development at the Brookdale Department of Geriatrics at Mount Sinai School of Medicine. In 1975, he became the founding director of the National Institute on Aging of the National Institutes of Health. He received his MD from Columbia College of Physicians and Surgeons.
Dr. Butler is the author and co-author of numerous articles, book chapters, and books. In 1976, he won the Pulitzer Prize for his book Why Survive? Being Old in America.
An internationally recognized leader in the fields of gerontology and geriatrics, Dr. Butler has been honored by numerous awards from various professional and other associations.
