Jesper Zeuthen, M. Sc., D. Sc.

Jesper Zeuthen has overall responsibility for BankInvest’s investments in the healthcare and biotechnology industry with special focus on the venture sector. Dr. Zeuthen has worked for the BankInvest Group since 1988, first as a consultant and from 2000 as manager of the BankInvest Biomedical Venture Team. He is widely credited for being one of the founding forces behind the biotechnology region Medicon Valley.

Prior positions include Chairman of the Board of Genmab A/S, which he helped establish, Director of Research at Novo A/S (now Novo Nordisk A/S) and Head of the Tumour Cell Biology Department at the Institute of Cancer Biology under the Danish Cancer Society in Copenhagen.

Dr. Zeuthen is a former research fellow at the Karolinska Institute in Sweden, associate professor at the University of Aarhus and adjunct professor at the University of Copenhagen. He has published more than 200 scientific articles in the areas of molecular and cell biology, immunology and cancer research, and has received three awards for his contributions to cancer research.
